“Anti-Zionists, not Anti-Semites”…

Monday, July 25th, 2005 -- Buzzurro

Shamelessly stolen from Stephen Plaut , professor at the University of Haifa.

Say What? Anti-Semites? Who, us anti-Zionists? Us?
We have nothing against Jews as such. We just hate Zionism and Zionists. We think Israel does not have a right to exist.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
Heavens to Mergatroyd. Marx Forbid. We are humanists. Progressives. Peace lovers.

  • Anti-Semitism is the hatred of Jews.
Anti-Zionism is opposition to Zionism and Israeli policies.
The two have nothing to do with one another. Venus and Mars. Night and Day. Trust us.
  • Sure, we think the only country on the earth that must be annihilated is Israel.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • Sure, we think that the only children on earth whose being blown up is OK if it serves a good cause are Jewish children.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • Sure we think that if Palestinians have legitimate grievances this entitles them to mass murder Jews.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • Naturally, we think that the only people on earth who should never be allowed to exercise the right of self-defense are the Jews.
Jews should only resolve the aggression against them through capitulation, never through self-defense.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We only denounce racist apartheid in the one country in the Middle East that is NOT a racist apartheid country.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We refuse to acknowledge the Jews as a people, and think they are only a religion. We do not have an answer to how people who do NOT practice the Jewish religion can still be regarded as Jews.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We think that all peoples have the right to self-determination, except Jews, and including even the make-pretend Palestinian ‘’people.'’
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We hate it when people blame the victims, except of course when people blame the Jews for the jihads and terrorist campaigns against them.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We think the only country in the Middle East that is a fascist anti-democratic one is the one that has free elections.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We demand that the only country in the Middle East with free speech, free press, or free courts be destroyed.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We oppose military aggression, except when it is directed at Israel.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We really understand suicide bombers who murder bus loads of Jewish children and we insist that their demands be met in full.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We think the only conflict on earth that must be solved through dismembering one of the parties to that conflict is the one involving Israel.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We do not think that Jews have any human rights that need to be respected and especially not the right to ride a bus without being murdered.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • There are Jewish leftist anti-Zionists and we consider this proof that anti-Zionists could not possibly be anti-Semitic.
Not even the ones who cheer when Jews are mass murdered.
These are the only Jews we think need be acknowledged or respected.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We do not think murder proves how righteous and just the cause of the murderer is, except when it comes to murderers of Jews.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We do not think the Jews are entitled to their own state and must submit to being a minority in a Rwanda-style ‘’bi-national state,'’ although no other state on earth, including the 22 Arab countries, should be similarly expected to be deprived of its sovereignty.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We think that Israel’s having a Jewish majority and a star on its flag makes it a racist apartheid state.
We do not think any other country having an ethnic-religious majority or having crosses or crescents or ‘’Allah Akbar'’ on its flag is racist or needs dismemberment.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We condemn the ‘’mistreatment'’ of women in the only country of the Middle East in which they are not mistreated.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We condemn the ‘’mistreatment'’ of minorities in the only country in the Middle East in which minorities are NOT brutally suppressed and mass murdered.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We demand equal citizen rights, which is why the only country in the Middle East in need of extermination is the only one in which they exist.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.
  • We have no trouble with the fact that there is no freedom of religion in any Arab countries.
But we are mad at hell at Israel for violating religious freedom, and never mind that we are never quite sure where or when it does so.
But that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.

So how can you possibly say we are anti-Semites? We are simply anti-Zionists.
We seek peace and justice, that’s all.
And surely that does not mean we have anything against Jews as such.

Awkward Suicide Bomber Accidentally Drops Bomb Before Reaching Target, Wounds Himself

Sunday, July 24th, 2005 -- Buzzurro

A man detonated a bomb several kilometers from the Pyramids of Giza on Sunday, police said.

The man was critically wounded, but the blast caused no other casualties.

Investigators were trying to determine whether the man was heading for the nearby tourist area of Kerdassa, a bazaar of souvenir shops near the Pyramids, a senior security official involved in the investigation said.

The device, which the man was carrying in a sack, apparently went off accidentally in the neighborhood of Kufr Tuhurmus, several kilometers (miles) from Kerdassa

There’s a Tuscan proverb that says, more or less: there’s no heaven for jerks (per i bischeri non c’e’ paradiso). And no 72 virgins too.

A Break from the Political Stuff..

Sunday, July 24th, 2005 -- J. Doe

In this day and age of divorce, I have compiled a list of phrases that will keep the love alive. Maybe.

  1. I don’t think you really fit the terrorist profile dear.
  2. You don’t smell that bad honey.
  3. You should take a shower now.
  4. Honey, you are not a jerk.
  5. You look OK with short hair.
  6. You are not as fat as a pregnant whale.
  7. You aren’t that stupid.
  8. It’s your birthday? Cheer up. You don’t look that old.
  9. Maybe you should go back to sleep.

    And finally,

  10. Honey, I love you even though you are fat.

Profiling, a weapon against terrorism

Sunday, July 24th, 2005 -- Buzzurro

Alex Alves Pereira, cousin of Jean Charles de Menezes, the guy who was mistakenly shot to death in the London tube, said he was angry over the police, and that’s understandable.

What’s less understandable is that he also complained because London police shouldn’t have mistakenly thought he was a terrorist, because he didn’t look as Arab or Pakistani or Bangladeshi (Hat tip: Chrenkoff).

How could they have confused and killed a light-skinned person who had no resemblance at all to an Asian?

His cousin should not have been bothered by the police because he was Caucasian.

Everyone should be searched or questioned by police, regardless of ethnicity, nobody should be exempt from police checks, as de Menezes’s cousin implies.

But racial/religious profiling to search for terrorists is a powerful tool in the fight against terrorism.

I suggest you to check this article on the profiling subject:

A good profiling system would take into account the fact you’re Arab or Arab-looking, that you have a Muslim name (100 percent of al-Qaida members are Muslims, by the way), you’re the right age and gender, and if you’ve been to Pakistan or Saudi Arabia in the last year or so, in which case you probably deserve some extra attention.

(…)

when the FBI revised its Most Wanted list after Sept. 11, everyone on the roster was Arabic.

Obviously racial/religious profiling is not the “silver bullet”: there have been Al-Qaeda terrorists that did not fit into these profiles:
John Walker Lindh, Caucasian American, Richard Reid, British citizen of Jamaican heritage, Jose Padilla, Hispanic.

The clearest proof that profiling works is that al-Qaida is using agents who don’t fit the standard profile.
When your enemy has to abandon its most plentiful weapons -in this case, suicidal Arab murderers -because you’ve learned to defend against them, that’s good news.
Obviously, al-Qaida has a lot more Arabs than Hispanics.
But, they’ve rightly concluded that Hispanics would have an easier time making it through our defenses.
They’re right, of course, which is why profiling alone isn’t an all-purpose tool.
But since when do you abandon a tool because it can’t do everything? I can’t use my hammer as a screwdriver, but my hammer is still pretty useful.

Profiling is what NYC police is not doing and should do after blasts happened in London a few days ago, as Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly announced:

People who do not submit to a search will be allowed to leave, but will not be permitted into the subway station. The police commissioner said officers would take pains to avoid singling people out for searches based on race or ethnicity.

“No racial profiling will be allowed,” Mr. Kelly said. “It’s against our policies. But it will be a systematized approach.”

“Systematized approach” means “PC approach”, that is, elders and toddlers, men and women, whoever will be searched, intentionally with NO method at all.

And those who refuse to undergo bag searches will be absurdly allowed to leave.

Who is to blame for Sharm el- Sheikh today’s blasts ?

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 -- Buzzurro

Who is to blame ?

WHO is to blame ?

Naturally, the J-O-O-S !

Anti-Semites are ridiculous, their behavior literally makes me laugh bitterly.

Who writes this stuff up ???

1 UK muslim out of 4 sympathizes with terrorists

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 -- Buzzurro

Only 1 out of 4 ? I thought it would be worse.

By the way: they probably are 4 muslims:

Statistically speaking, one among them is likely to be a bad guy.
Who it might be ?

The answer is: all of them.

Jihad Today, 23/7

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 -- Buzzurro

(Note: post repeatedly updated)

Attentato a Sharm-el-Sheikh, all’apice della stagione turistica.

Perche’ ????
Perche’ sarebbero dovuti andare a recare soccorso a molti “infedeli” ??

Intanto un musulmano su 4 simpatizza con i terroristi, in Gran Bretagna.

Solo uno su 4 ? Pensavo peggio.

Ottimo lavoro della polizia inglese

Friday, July 22nd, 2005 -- Buzzurro
