Yes, I think my views are much better covered by being a South Park Republican. In older age comes more wisdom. I have definitely shifted to the right while the Democrats have drastically shifted to the loony left.

Well, that is probably the dream of most Leftists... although they'd all prefer Paris.

I am glad that I'm not alone.
Ironically I think my change of heart started when I relocated to Italy, which as you know is 90 percent extreme left wing.the kind that praises terrorist as freedom fighters. I don't know if the American leftwing is that bad yet, but they are surely walking down that path.
You can see many things from living abroad and looking in at the US, mainly the lack of rights that foreign governments don't grant their citizens but Americans do. Americans have a great government. It shames me to see Americans protest them and treat their government like pondscum when in my opinion they should thank God every day that they were born in a land where their rights are protected and respected.
Perhaps if you could put all the US left wing Democrats on a plane and make them live abroad for a few years they too would change their tune.

Like you, I am a moderate on social issues. But years living around the world makes me impatient and angry with Americans who respect all cultures but their own, and support all revolutions but ones that disagree with the Democratic Party's far Left wing.

In the past few years I have discovered people labled as "conservative" who are passionate and enthusiastic about fighting for the rights of women and children and racial "minorities". But, because their entire belief system does not mesh perfectly with the Left, these people are painted as "hate mongers" and "right-wing whackos".

The Left seems to have run out of ideas. They seem to have lost the will to fight for the safety of downtrodden women everywhere. They seem to have lost any desire to fight for something bigger than themselves or their immediate families. They resemble a once powerful animal in the throes of a slow and painful death.
