Look out Pisa, you’ve got competition !
Monday, December 5th, 2005 -- J. DoeIntroducing the Leaning Tower of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Blast can’t topple state’s tallest building
Crowd watches as demolition fails to raze South Dakota towerSIOUX FALLS, South Dakota (AP) — Thousands of spectators gathered to watch the demolition of the city’s tallest building — but the Zip Feed Mill tower was no pushover.
The 202-foot-tall concrete structure dropped slightly, leaned a little — and stopped. Onlookers at viewing spots all over downtown groaned and gasped — with a few jokes mixed in.
“The leaning tower of Sioux Falls,” one woman said.
Read about it here.
Ha ha ha! It’s a joke mayor and friends of Pisa. Relax. It’s not trying to compete with your tower. I know you don’t like the dreaded C word (competition) and I’m just giving you a hard time.
Ha ha ha!

It is clear that Pisans have travelled all over the world.
There is a rumor that hundreds of souvenir stands have already opened in Souix Falls flogging miniature Zip Feed Mill Towers.
Hi, J. Doe, sorry to post off-topic, but I can’t seem to find your email address anywhere. Anyway, I said your comment on my recent panda post would inspire a satire, and it has. Here it is!

Enjoy!
By the way, there’s a pretty neat book on the Leaning Tower of Pisa, “Tilt,” by Nicholas Schrady. The book itself is tilted!

Hey - Did you know you were nominated for an award as a Best Weblog, Best European. I voted for you! Post a message, so more will vote for you. :OD
Yes, you were nominated, and the idiot who nominated you (me) misspelled Buzzurro’s name. I know I will be cursed forever by his family. Please forgive me.
Thank you for the nomination! The spelling doesn’t matter.
As an American living in Italy I am so used to my name being spelled differently I probably wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t pointed it out.
Sara,
Thanks for the vote!
