Monday, May 15th, 2006 -- J. DoeLast night Buzzurro and I heard on the radio an advertisement for a restaurant called ‘O Sole Mio’, which to us sounded like a perfect name for an Italian restaurant, but instead it is New Mexican.
Then the announcer proceeded to say ‘Open 7 days a week’ and ‘closed on Tuesday’.
“What a stupid advertisement’ I said to Buzzurro. ‘You are either open 7 days a week or open 6 and close on Tuesdays, it can’t be both !’
‘Maybe they have 8 day weeks in New Mexico’ he replied.
‘I hope not. Then I’d have to work 6 days instead of 5.’
‘Or get a 3 days weekend every week’ replied Buzzurro.
Wouldn’t that be nice ?
How funny! Maybe they DO have 8-day weeks there!
And personally, I wouldn’t mind 3-day weekend at all. In fact, I was recently talking with a friend of mine who works in a science lab. She said she would happily work 4 days a week of 10 hours each if she could then have Friday off and make a 3-day weekend every weekend.

I’d vote for the 3 day weekends and 5 weeks of vacation! Oh yeah I forgot I gave that up when I moved back to north america… I gotta get back to making my own schedule all the time!!! Like them - open 7 days a week but closed on tuesdays…
