Thanks

Thursday, March 15th, 2007 -- J. Doe

A thousand grazie mille to Cyndi of Reboot: A New Life in Italy for the package of food she so kindly mailed from Italy to us in the USA.
I would have like to post a photo but one of the things she sent was chocolate.
I have mentioned before how I do not like the chocolate sold here, be it Hershey’s, Dove or Nestle. Neither does Buzzurro.
Cyndi sent us some Italian chocolate and Buzzurro and I devoured it like a pack of hungry wolves, so as they say in Italy, niente foto.
It tasted so good!!! Thanks again.
I just hope the package I sent with American foods arrives soon.

It was my pleasure! And I must thank you both for sending a box of goodies my way! The poor little peeps didn’t even last a day! Opus and Roscoe want me to be sure to say thank you also (though it sounded more like MEOW). They LOVE the cat treats you sent.

Thanks again and I hope you guys enjoy your Italian treats!

So how do we get a taste of Italian chocolate? Can you provide a brand name? Perhaps one could find it on e-bay.

    Ray:
    this sounds good enough.
Brand names ? Even the Italian supermarkets’ store brands taste way better than US chocolate.
Perugina is pretty famous, and good, but beware of “baci Perugina”: they aren’t chocolate bars, they are hard candies, chocolate outside, nuts inside, and they are wrapped in a “wise” (?) sentence written on a piece of paper, kind of… the Italian version of fortune cookies.
I heard that Ghirardelli, despite the name, is not Italian, they are based in NJ, I guess.
I tried their chocolate, and yet is OK, worse than OK, for my taste.
But the worst is Hershey’s ! It is really gross.
Between Hershey’s and no chocolate, Hershey’s wins.
Between whatever Italian chocolate and Hershey’s, whatever wins.
You should try Pocket Coffee, by Ferrero.
According to my own market analysis, with no pretence of scientificity, the average American would love Pocket Coffee, if he would know what the heck it is.

thank you for the chocolate. I appreciated it a lot. I have a pimple on my face to prove it.
