Why The Flying Imams Were Kicked Off US Airways Flight

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006 -- Buzzurro

Some details about the case of the imams removed from a US Airways flight:

Contrary to press accounts that a single note from a passenger triggered the imams’ removal, Captain John Howard Wood was weighing multiple factors.

* An Arabic speaker was seated near two of the imams in the plane’s tail. That passenger pulled a flight attendant aside and, in a whisper, translated what the men were saying: invoking “bin Laden” and condemning America for “killing Saddam,” according to police reports.

* An imam seated in first class asked for a seat-belt extender - the extra strap that obese people use because the standard belt is too short. According to both an on-duty and a deadheading flight attendant, he looked too thin to need one.

A seat-belt extender can easily be used as a weapon - just wrap one end around your fist, and swing the heavy metal buckle.

* All six imams had boarded together, with the first-class passengers - even though only one of them had a first-class ticket. Three had one-way tickets. Between the six men, only one had checked a bag.

And, Pauline said, they spread out - just like the 9/11 hijackers. Two sat in first class, two in the middle and two back in the economy section, police reports show. Some, according to Rader, took seats not assigned to them.

* Finally, a gate attendant told the captain she was suspicious of the imams, according to police reports.

and:

“I think it was either a foiled attempt to take over the plane or it was a publicity stunt to accuse us of being insensitive,” Pauline told me. “It had to be to intimidate U.S. Airways to ease up on security.”

Probably the latter. It seems too blatant to be true. Anyway, would you feel comfortable flying with them ?

A Fatwa Against Dante ?

Monday, February 6th, 2006 -- Buzzurro

A cask by losing centre-piece or cant
Was never shattered so, as I saw one
Rent from the chin to where one breaketh wind.

Between his legs were hanging down his entrails;
His heart was visible, and the dismal sack
That maketh excrement of what is eaten.

While I was all absorbed in seeing him,
He looked at me, and opened with his hands
His bosom, saying: “See now how I rend me;

How mutilated, see, is Mahomet;
In front of me doth Ali weeping go,
Cleft in the face from forelock unto chin;

Già veggia, per mezzul perdere o lulla,
com’io vidi un, così non si pertugia,
rotto dal mento infin dove si trulla.

Tra le gambe pendevan le minugia;
la corata pareva e ‘l tristo sacco
che merda fa di quel che si trangugia.

Mentre che tutto in lui veder m’attacco,
guardommi, e con le man s’aperse il petto,
dicendo: «Or vedi com’io mi dilacco!

Vedi come storpiato è Maometto!
Dinanzi a me sen va piangendo Alì,
fesso nel volto dal mento al ciuffetto.

(Inferno, Canto XXVIII)

Animals

Sunday, February 5th, 2006 -- Buzzurro

I’ve seen the Mohammed cartoons and I don’t think there is anything offensive in them.
What offends Muslims is that Mohammed is portrayed in them, not how it’s portrayed.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with “religious sensibility”. Those who did this and this and this and this are animals.
This has nothing to do with respect. Respect must be mutual.

This is a blackmail: “do not publish such cartoons else we will kill you. You have to obey the sharia“. Unfortunately, we are not Muslims.

Instead, they find nothing wrong in publishing these cartoons, these cartoons are OK for Muslims, and they’re OK as well for Western media.
Islamists don’t feel the need to protest against these cartoons. Such cartoons are published every week in Muslim countries.

J.Doe and I know that not all Muslims are like that. But frankly I have very little or no hopes to see moderate Muslims openly facing and opposing extremists.

Islamists behave like a global mafia that aims to intimidate the world in order to rule it, following its long term plan, the world caliphate.

It is a totally absurd plan, yet it’s enough to read the news since September 11, 2001 to realize how serious they are. Even Nazi plans were the most absurd ones ever…
And the moderate Muslims almost vanish among extremist Muslims. Moderate Muslims theorically exist, many of us know some of them, many of us have some of them as friends, so we know they do exist…

Commentary on the Cartoons of Mohammed in a Danish Newspaper and the Muslim Response

Sunday, February 5th, 2006 -- J. Doe

Front page news in every European newspaper is about the cartoons originally published by a Danish newspaper and the Muslim response around the world.
In American newspapers this story is delegated to page 2 to 10, depending on how many advertisements for Women’s boots the newspaper has. HA HA, but seriously, this news story just doesn’t seem important to them, especially on a Superbowl weekend. Well, to me it’s important, so here is my opinion.
Being Jewish, I am offended by many cartoons in the Arab press, so to me whether the Muslims are upset or not by the cartoons depicting Mohammed is besides the point.. I can understand their being upset. Mohammed is not like Jesus Christ. His image should not be drawn. Misunderstandings happen. Unlike their inflammatory anti-semitic cartoons, these were not intentioned to offend. Like I said, misunderstandings happen. Apologize and move on. The apolgies happened. Now it’s time to move on. So I cannot understand, not for one second is how many Muslims justify burning buildings, burning flags, throwing rocks, calling for beheadings and bombings. Aren’t they always saying that Islam is a ‘Religion of Peace’? This doesn’t seem very peaceful to me. The Arab press has such pictures all the time. Against others, of course. You don’t see them burning buildings and doing such other violent acts. They can dish it out but can’t take it? How can this happen? Are all Muslims insane? Is there any hope for any future possible insults against Islam?
Apparently there is.
www.sorrynorwaydenmark.com is a website that was started by a group of Arab and Muslim youth. They are not happy by the cartoons depicting Mohammed like many of their Muslim bretheren, but they are disgusted by the reaction of the hardline Muslims and in some cases the governments who want their citizens to become inflamed abut a bunch of external unimportant issues instead of focusing on iternal nes, such as high unemployment, high poverty and social ills like that.
Check it out. It’s good to know in times like these that there are moderate Muslims in the world.

Al Qaeda Does What to Civilians ?

Saturday, November 19th, 2005 -- J. Doe

Al Qaeda had a suicide bomber drive a car into a Iraqi muslim funeral today, killing 25 people.

Yesterday, Mr. Al Zarwaki said that Al Quada “did not target Muslim civilians.”
Who did he think was going to attend this funeral anyway ? Coalition forces ? Israelis ? Jooos ?
Obviously Muslims were there. What a liar. A Hypocrite.

Read about it here.

I am against suicide bombings against any people, Muslim, Jew, Christian, American or Spanish, military or civilian, but especially civilian.
Zarqawi is full of lies. He is saying one thing and doing another. I can see it, and it looks like several people are finally opening their eyes and seeing the truth too.

There was a rally in Jordan with approximately 200,000 participants, several calling Al Zarqawi a “coward” and saying that he should “burn in hell.”

Several radical Islamic websites that normally celebrate al-Qaeda’s terrorist attacks are now replete with criticism of the indiscriminate slaughter of innocent Muslims.

This is a small, but welcome step. Perhaps if everyone, even the fanatic and non-fanatic supporters of Al Qaeda see that he is hypocritical, maybe, just maybe Al-Qaeda will lose it’s welcome in the Arab and Muslim worlds.

Another article of interest about the same topic as above.

News from Jordan

Saturday, November 12th, 2005 -- J. Doe

Al Qaeda was behind the bombings at the 3 hotels in Amman where 57 people died.

27 of the victims were Palestinians. 1 of them was Israeli.

Read About It here.

Aren’t they supposed to be on the side of the Palestinians ? Is this how they show their support ?

Explosions in Jordan

Thursday, November 10th, 2005 -- J. Doe

There has been another terrorist attack in Jordan. 3 luxury hotels were targeted, presumbly because they are American. One of them isn’t. Al Qaeda goofed. It is joint Palestinian and Jordanian.
This would almost be comical in itself if the results weren’t so deadly.
A statement from a hotel representative.

57 people died. Businessmen. Tourists. Employees. All innocent. Several people were celebrating a wedding. The terrorist walked into the wedding ballroom, saw it was a wedding and detonated himself.
I don’t care what your position is on the Iraqi war, if you think coalition forces should be there or not.
I don’t care what your position is in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.
There can be no justification for this. None at all.

Natasha Tynes said it best on her blog but I will repeat it:

To Whoever did this,
May you enjoy the hell that is awaiting you, where, to your dismay, you will be greeted by seven demons instead of your long-awaited virgins !
May you rot in hell over and over again along with Zarqawi, Bin Laden, Bin Shit and all those that support you.
Nothing in the world can justify this. Those that try to justify this can rot in hell as well !
May God protect my country and my people. May God bless the souls of those barbarically massacred today. We will never forget !
